Myths and Tails
Okay, so you’re thinking about booking a session and getting some photos of the furry love/s of your life. The only problem is, you’re pretty sure that they’re not going to behave well enough to get even one decent photo. In your head, you picture your unruly pet running off, easily distracted by every sound and movement and not so much as sniffing in the direction of the lens. If they’re let off the lead, you think, they’ll be darting to the nearest smell of another dog – a hundred feet away…not to mention the embarrassment that will come when, after twenty minutes of calling them, they still haven’t returned.
There’s something we feel you should know as this point…
Ninety-nine point nine percent of the animals that come to our studio are exactly like yours. No, really! Most of the pets we photograph are untrained; excitable and distracted. Some are shy, scared and afraid of new people and may take to the nearest hiding place on arrival (usually Jody’s desk, and trust us she really doesn’t mind!). A well behaved pet who sits and stays on demand? It’s what we consider a luxury in this job. After all, our furry loved ones are still animals, and let’s face it, part of the reason we love them is because of their boisterous and wild personalities.
There’s something else you should know too – we still manage to take great photos! Check out our facebook page for gorgeous pet portraits.
With years of experience, we have photographed more paws than we can count! We’ve developed techniques and methods of dealing with animal behaviour so that you don’t have to worry about it. We speak cat/dog/rabbit/bird/fish – you name it.
Whatever you do, don’t let your pet’s behaviour hold you back from booking a session and getting those photos you’ve always wanted.
